3 Ways I Practice Self-Care

Share 3 ways you practice self-care.

According to Psych Central, self-care is the

“…key to improved mood and reduced anxiety. It’s also key to a good relationship with oneself and others.”

While there are probably dozens of ways to practice self-care and while we all have a handful that work best for resetting our individual selves mentally, emotionally and physically, these are the 3 I found most beneficial – and effective!

1. SLEEP

Early to bed, early to rise, makes a (wo)man healthy, wealthy and wise. Each night, my phone buzzes with an alarm notifying me it’s time for bed. Bedtime is 9:30 p.m.

2. PUZZLING

Literally. I have a space in my living room that is dedicated to puzzling. Clearly this isn’t riveting or something that everyone will find an interest in, but puzzling provides an opportunity for quiet time to myself. It’s relaxing. My puzzle time is when I turn my brain off from the rest of the world and focus simply on the task at hand – putting the puzzle together. I recommend you give it a try sometime.

3. READ

Caring for yourself now also means caring for your future self. I am always reading a book to better my self personally and professionally. There’s so much advice and insight floating around out there. You’d be foolish not to take advantage.
