Are you a tree hugger?
Urban Dictionary defines tree hugger as:
- An environmentalist.
- One who believes trees and all living things should not be cut down.
- Typically described as hippies.
Merriam-Webster’s definition for tree hugger is an “environmentalist; an advocate for the preservation of woodlands.”
Merriam-Webster is also a bit sassier in also defining it as, “someone who is regarded as foolish or annoying because of being too concerned about protecting trees, animals, and other parts of the natural world from pollution and other threats”
I have never advocated for the trees. I printed off more than 100 pieces of paper this week alone. I do not identify as a hippie. And would find it quite offensive if someone described me as foolish or annoying in any regard.
So, by definition in every matter, form or context of the word – I am not a tree hugger.
